TIE is an international B2B software company, established in 1987 and focused on Business Interoperability. TIE (NYSE Euronext: TIE Kinetix) is an SME and also a publicly held company with offices in the US, UK, France, DACH and the Netherlands (HQ) with thousands of customers across all major industry sectors.

TIE bases its business in four pillars: Business Integration, Content Syndication, eCommerce and Business Analytics. Its main objective is to provide solutions and platforms to enhance productivity and revenue generation in the digital chain. Then, TIE enables companies to do business electronically and to lower costs by synchronizing their information and processes with their partners. TIE plays a major role in global e-Business standardization and has years of experience in providing customers with the benefit of solid, future-proof products.

TIE is particularly close to next generation technologies being focused on the following domains: Data Synchronisation, B2B Integration, Content Sharing and Content Syndication.

Additionally, one of the ways to promote TIE’s skills and acquire new skills is through multi-partner cooperative European and National research projects. Consequently, TIE has been involved in various European Union projects (SEEMseed, leading partner in SEAMLESS and STASIS) and currently is involved in 5 EU projects: INTUITEL (Technology Enhanced Learning), SIMPLI-CITY (Energy Efficient and Sustainable Mobility) and PREMANUS, Adventure, ARUM (Factories of the Future).

Finally, TIE is founding member of the International Journal of Interoperability in Business Information Systems (IBIS) and a NESSI partner, where is chairing the SME committee, supporting and coordinating major SME activities in Europe. Under NESSI, TIE has been also active in related past projects like e.g. NEXOF-RA (Software and services architecture), SOA4ALL (Semantics and services), NESSI2010 and NetChallenge (IT support for non-hierarchical business networks).


Due to its experience in software development, TIE’s most important contribution will be the development of the INTUITEL Editor. The INTUITEL Editor will allow the new semantic annotation of unstructured learning material together with the modification of existing annotations.
